Covmask s.r.o.
Covmask s.r.o. specializes in the development and manufacturing of advanced decontamination systems based on Non-Thermal Plasma (NTP) technology. Our main product, Plasmatico, provides a safe solution for microbiological safety in healthcare, laboratories, and industry. Operating at atmospheric pressure and room temperature, the technology allows for the gentle treatment of a wide range of materials.
Key Applications of Plasmatico:
- Laboratory Sector: We enable the safe reuse of disposable plastic materials, such as filter pipette tips. The process effectively eliminates DNA/RNA residues without deforming plastics or damaging filters, delivering significant economic and environmental savings.
- Sensitive Electronics & Optics: Due to the absence of high heat and moisture, the device is designed for decontaminating expensive instruments like endoscopes, microscopes, cameras, and sensors.
- Patient Personal Items: In high-hygiene environments (transplant units, oncology, neonatology), the system decontaminates personal belongings (mobile phones, toys, glasses), reducing the risk of infection transmission.
Technological and Economic Parameters:
- High Efficacy: Validated elimination of viruses (including SARS-CoV-2, Influenza), bacteria, highly resistant bacterial spores (Geobacillus stearothermophilus), and multi-resistant strains (MRSA).
- Minimal Operating Costs: The process runs solely on electricity. The cost per cycle is under €0.04. The device requires no consumables, chemicals, or media replenishment.
Future Developments in Plasma Technology:
Beyond surface sterilization, Covmask s.r.o. is actively developing other applications:
- Large-Capacity Waste Decontamination: Development of systems for the safe processing and decontamination of biohazardous waste.
- Plasma Medicine: Development of standalone therapeutic devices designed to accelerate chronic wound healing and combat antimicrobial resistance.
- Plasma-Activated Water (PAW): Technology for eco-friendly water disinfection and treatment.
